Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Ground Pork Sausage
  • 8 to 10 Large Eggs
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 6 cups Stale Bread Cubes
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tsp Dry Mustard
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley (optional)

Method
 

  1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Place bread cubes in a large bowl.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Spread cooked sausage over the bread cubes and toss slightly.
  5. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over the top.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and sausage, pressing down to soak the bread.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove plastic wrap and bake for 45 to 55 minutes until puffy and golden brown.
  10. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Use stale bread for best results. If using fresh bread, toast cubes for 10 minutes before using. Adjust seasoning to taste.
