Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz potato gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté garlic, then add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Boil salted water, add gnocchi, and cook until they float (2-3 minutes).
  4. Combine cooked gnocchi with the sauce and half of the basil, then transfer to the baking dish.
  5. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan, then bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is golden.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes, garnish with remaining basil, and serve hot.

Notes

Ensure not to overcook the gnocchi during boiling. Use fresh garlic for better flavor. Let the dish rest before serving.
